Warehouse Conversation to Indoor Multi-sport Facility Business Case (Lite)

This Indicative Business Case Lite was commissioned by Tauranga City Basketball Association to address the shortfall of indoor court facilities in Tauranga city. The Business Case collated the information generated over time and applied financial modelling for the proposal to secure a warehouse facility in Tauriko in the growing western side of the city. It was anticipated to be the catalyst for deeper debate and testing of the recommendations by the stakeholders.

It was anticipated the proposed warehouse conversion could provide additional courts for basketball, volleyball and badminton/pickleball. The proposed facility activity was focused on community level sport for local and users in the catchment within the city and with neighbouring Western Bay of Plenty residents (district, regional, national and spectator event levels are catered for in other facilities within the city network of indoor active recreation and sport facilities).
